Pronounced 'number 8', not 'no 8', this electric-only SUV coupé marks the start of a new naming convention for the DS brand, so why they haven't called it the 'No.1' will remain a mystery. Then again, remember how Microsoft did the same with the Xbox One? So this being the first of a new model range, you can expect to see more 'numbers' from the DS brand in the not-too-distant future.
Of course, the whole naming aspect doesn't take any shine off what is a great car, mind. X marks the spot, or in this case the steering wheel (which is shaped like an X), and then there's all the usual interior goodies and creature comforts that you expect in a modern vehicle like this. The centrally-placed 16" touchscreen infotainment system, for one thing. And in the pursuit of a more minimalist look, the designers have not placed any traditional buttons on the dashboard and instead opted to put most of the car’s controls within the infotainment screen.
Choose from Front-Wheel Drive or Four-Wheel Drive and either 2 trim levels: the Pallas and the Étoile – with the latter being the more advanced of the two. There's no major external visual differences between the 2, though the Étoile gives you extras like comfort seats, a neck warmer and a 'DS Luminascreen' (basically a fancy light-up grille), as well as night vision headlights. Enjoy a maximum claimed electric range of 466 miles. Actual real-world range is likely to be a bit lower, though anything above 400 is still great for an EV.

DS is a French premium car manufacturer that's owned by Stellantis. It's a standalone brand in its own right, though it used to be a sub-brand of Citroën, but separated from it in 2012.
November and December, towards the end of the year, are generally the best months to lease a car as this is when dealers are keen to meet their sales targets. However, March and September can also be good, as this is in the run-up to new registration plate releases, when automotive dealers are keen to make way for new stock.
