This has become Mercedes' chief SUV model. Now in its third generation, the German brand reckons it rivals the Range Rover and Tesla Model X, but really also the new BMW X7, which we're sure the GLS was very much inspired by. Being an immensely practical, refined, comfortable, clever and quiet vehicle, we reckon it’ll also appeal to a wider market than initially thought.
This SUV brings an attractive exterior design that really stands out, coupled with one of the roomiest, most practical interior designs out there. Boot space ranges from 470 litres with the rearmost seats in position, to a gigantic 2400 litres with two rows of seats folded. The seemingly endless passenger space, comfortably accommodating 7 adults, and vast storage are both pleasing and beneficial in equal measure. Furthermore, Mercedes has really focussed on rendering this vehicle as comfortable as possible when compared with any other similar options. You can heat the rear seats which also profit from their own climate controls and zone, which leads us nicely onto all the other incredible interior features.
Our verdict? This Mercedes, as ever, is excellent. Families will love this SUV for its practicality as an attractive, tremendous long-distance cruiser with comfy seats, great engines and top-notch tech. And here are the trims below:
