A best-selling automobile isn’t necessarily the fastest-selling car. So, we were curious to find out how popular these vehicles really are by revealing which cars sell the fastest.

A fast car on the move.

Many cars are touted as the best-selling of all time, which means they’ve sold a significant number over the years. However, a best-selling automobile isn’t necessarily the fastest-selling car. So, we were curious to find out how popular these vehicles really are by revealing which cars sell the fastest.

To uncover the fastest-selling cars, we’ve analysed the best-selling vehicles across the globe, then calculated how many cars are sold per year and per hour based on how long the vehicle has been released.

Nissan Sentras Sell Six Times Quicker Than Any Other Car

Surprisingly, the fastest-selling car of all time isn’t a typical classic like a Volkswagen Beetle or Ford Model T. But, in fact the Sentra, produced by Japanese manufacturer, Nissan, is the world’s fastest-selling car of all time, selling six times quicker than the average cars analysed.

The Nissan Sentra sells 1,590,000 units a year, 132,500 per month, 4,356 a day, and an amazing 182 per hour.

The Sentra has sold an incredible 15.9 million units across the world (except Europe) under different names, such as Sunny and Pulsar.

101 of North America’s Ford F Series are Sold Every Hour

The Ford F Series is North America’s best-selling car of the last 39 years and astoundingly the second fastest-selling car across the globe. 101 units of this pick-up truck are sold every hour, making that 2,428 sold in a day.

Why is this automobile so quick to sell? Well, it ticks all the boxes for North Americans – it’s affordable, practical, and huge.

The Third Fastest Selling Car of All-Time is the Toyota Corolla, With 100 Sold per Hour

The Toyota Corolla is renowned for being the best-selling car on Earth. Despite being a best-seller, the car isn’t the fastest-selling. According to LeaseLoco’s research, the Corolla is the third-fastest selling car of all time.

The Corolla has been produced since 1966 and during that time it’s changed significantly, with today’s Corolla not resembling anything of the 60’s model.

This continuous innovation could owe to its success, with a huge 882,000 cars sold a year, 73,500 sold a month, and an astonishing 100 cars sold every hour.

Incredibly, Ford manufactures four of the fastest-selling cars in the UK: Cortina, Escort, Focus and Fiesta. The second fastest-selling car in the UK happens to be another classic - the Ford Cortina. Ford began production of the Cortina in 1962 with it finally ending in 1982. In it’s 20 year lifespan a huge 2,589,351 units were sold, that equals 10,789 sold a month, 30 per day, and 14.8 an hour.

It’s not so surprising that Tesla is leading the way with the fastest-selling EV. The Model 3 is the world’s all-time best selling electric car with 645,000 units sold since 2020.

Wuling Hongguang Mini EV Is Already the 2nd Fastest Selling EV

The second fastest-selling EV of all time is the lesser-known Wuling Hongguang Mini EV. Although not available in the UK and therefore not as known, this manufacturer is one of the key players in the electric vehicle market in China.

Experts have revealed that the car lacks in performance, range, and battery compared to Tesla. However, the car is far cheaper than a Tesla, with the Hongguang Mini EV retailing at $4,500 (£3,200), which is $30,500 (£39,300) cheaper than the Tesla Model 3.
