Skywell was founded in 2010 by bus manufacturer Nanjing Golden Dragon and Skyworth, an industrial group.

Skywell's logo features a central letter "W" in the shape of a shield – representing safety and quality. It's coloured blue as well, representing electric power.

For a brand that was co-founded by a bus manufacturer, it's no surprise that that's exactly the kind of electric vehicle Skywell has been churning out – buses. As well as some vans and trucks, but you're not going to be seeing many of those on UK roads.

But in 2017, the Chinese manufacturer did branch out into passenger vehicles, starting with the impressive Skywell BE11 SUV.

More recently, the brand has integrated advanced technology into its vehicles to fine-tune that seamless EV driving experience. This includes AI-based connectivity systems, vehicle-home integration and voice controls.

For the future, the company has ambitions to expand its line-up of cars with more SUV and saloon vehicles whilst also delving into hybrids potentially.
