Founded by Japanese business mogul Kiichiro Toyoda in 1937, Toyota has grown to become the world's largest car manufacturer as of 2022. Toyota also holds the record for being the first car manufacturer to have produced more than 10 million vehicles in a single year – a feat they achieved in 2012.

Building on from its 2005 predecessor, the second generation Toyota Aygo is a car that sure looks like a lot of fun, and one that's more suited to the town than the motorway. Its main rivals are the Peugeot 108 and the Citroen C1, but out of the three, the Aygo certainly looks the most youthful. It boasts a more modern interior than the first generation model, featuring a clever x-touch infotainment system.

What hasn't changed is the 3-cylinder 1.0-litre petrol engine, with either a manual or an automatic gearbox. Its power output is 71bhp and it delivers a respectable 60mpg, which is true no matter which of the six trim levels you choose from (X, X-play, X-pression, X-cite, X-pure and X-clusiv). At 168 litres, the boot space isn't great, and things can get rather cramped for passengers in the back seats.
