The BYD Atto 3 sports a clean, aerodynamic exterior characterized by a sloping waistline, full-width LED light strips at both front and rear, and dynamic 18″ alloy wheels that give it a modern crossover look. Its body features subtle hints of VW-inspired detailing, such as the C‑pillar accents and streamlined panels, resulting in an expressive yet refined presence.
Inside, the cabin embraces a quirky gym-inspired theme with cosy vegan‑leather sports seats, and playful design cues like barbell-style door handles, kettlebell gear lever, and free‑weight‑shaped vents. The centrepiece is a large 12.8″ or optional 15.6″ rotating touchscreen, complemented by tactile physical buttons and a panoramic glass roof that bathes the flat-floored, spacious interior in natural light.
Technology and Features
Standard features include Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone mirroring, wireless + reverse charging pads, and voice activation for navigation, climate, call operation, and music control. The BYD-specific Atto 3 App allows remote pre-conditioning, charging scheduling, and vehicle health insights. Safety tech includes a 360° camera system, rear cross-traffic alert, tyre pressure monitoring, and UK-offered vehicle-to-load (V2L) power output for camping or emergency devices. Charging is quick and convenient, with DC fast‑charging up to ~88 kW (150 kW peak) enabling 30–80 % in roughly 29 minutes, and standard V2L functionality lets you power devices up to 3.6 kW.
Putting Safety First
With a 5‑star Euro NCAP rating, the BYD Atto 3’s safety credentials are solid. Safety systems include lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and blind-spot warnings. Occupant security is supported by a reinforced body structure and ample whiplash-protection headrests. Optional packs further add traffic sign recognition, driver attention alert, and forward collision warning with active braking.
