In existence since the 1940s and named after Japanese industrialist Soichiro Honda, Honda was once more known for motorcycles, its popularity as a car manufacturer really picking up around the turn of the new millennium. Its success hasn't quite been enough to rival that of Toyota, but in terms of the world's largest car manufacturers, Honda does still sit at a very commendable 5th place spot at the time of writing.
With its sharp lines and glossy exterior, the Honda NSX has supercar written all over it. One of the first supercars to introduce a hybrid power system, it meshes environmental friendliness with the need for speed, proving that mean really can be green. Born out of the best Honda-led design, it's supported by three electric motors and a nine-speed twin clutch gear box. As you'd expect, the NSX boasts some impressive stats, delivering raw unencumbered power from its 3.5-litre V6 twin-turbo engine and generating over 580bhp. It achieves a speed of 0-62mph in under 2.9 seconds – which in our books makes it truly race-worthy.
