This second generation SUV crossover is one of the most distinctive vehicles out there. Make no mistake, it's original in every sense of the word, marking a significant improvement over its wacky predecessor. Not only has the cabin space increased, but the dashboard and instrumentation panel are leaps and bounds ahead as well. All of that combines to make the Juke a more than worthy match for its Ford Puma and Skoda Kamiq competitors.
For the petrol version, there's just one engine on offer: a 1.0 litre three-cylinder turbo variety, producing 117 PS and delivering 48 miles per gallon – not a bad return. Nissan gives the official 0-62mph time as 10.7 seconds, but that's probably a tad too generous. Boot space stands at 422-litres, and when it comes to trims, the entry-level Visia gives you LED lights, Bluetooth, DAB radio and cruise control. If you want anything more than that, you'll have to punt for either of the Acenta, N-Connecta, Enigma, Tekna and Tekna+ alternatives.
Good news if petrol isn't your thing, because you can also drive the Juke as a hybrid. Unfortunately, to accommodate the bulky 1.2 kWh battery, boot size goes down to 354-litres (68-litres less than the petrol version), but that can still be increased to 1,237 litres if you fold down the rear seats. Engine-wise, the hybrid Juke makes use of a 1.6-litre petrol engine which, together with its battery, produces a combined output of 141bhp.
